Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) in Louisville KY

Dr. Lee Corbett is a board-certified facial surgeon with many years’ experience helping patients achieve a more youthful appearance. One of the facial rejuvenation procedures he performs more often is upper and lower eyelid surgery. Because eyes are the focal point of the face, even small changes to this area can dramatically enhance the appearance of the whole face. Peruse the paragraphs below to learn more about the renowned Louisville eyelid surgery specialist, Dr. Lee Corbett, and his treatment approach.

What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is cosmetic surgery to improve the appearance of the eyelids and upper facial region. A surgery may involve surgical alteration or lifting of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. All patients will meet with their board-certified surgeon for a consultation where the surgeon will outline recommendations and expected results.

Is Eyelid Surgery for Me?

No other facial feature says more about us than our eyes. Patients frequently complain that their eyes make them look tired or angry or simply too old. Blepharoplasty surgery rejuvenates the eyes by removing excess skin and fat, or “bags”, of the eyelids. This procedure is often coupled with face lift, forehead lift, and laser surgery. Some patients also consider rhinoplasty and/or chin augmentation in order to enhance the harmony of their facial contours.

Goals of Surgery

The goal of Blepharoplasty surgery is to remove excess eyelid skin and fat to “open up” the eyes and restore your bright, vibrant and youthful appearance.
