Vaginal Rejuvenation in Louisville
Vaginal rejuvenation encompasses five procedures intended to improve the appearance of the outer labira (labia majora), inner labia (labia minora), perineum, and clitoral hood.
Women seek labiaplasty, perineoplasty, clitoral hood reduction and ThermiVa non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation for a variety of reasons. Common complaints include irritation and/or discomfort while exercising, inability to or discomfort while wearing tight clothing or exercise/yoga pants and swim wear, embarrassment, interference with and/or actual physical discomfort during intimacy or intercourse. Often times these procedures are combined to yield the best result.
Labia Minora Labiaplasty
Labia minora labisplasty is probably the most commonly requested of the vaginal rejuvenation procedures. It is performed for the removal of a large or uneven labia minora. Large inner labia can cause chronic irritation, rubbing, or discomfort during sexual intercourse. In addition, many women who have an enlarged inner labia are embarrassed or self-conscious of their appearance. Another common problem women encounter is the appearance of a bulge with certain clothing such as yoga pants, leggings and swimsuits.
Labia Majora Labiaplasty
The outer lips of the vagina, the labia majora, can enlarge with excess skin and fatty tissue. This can cause an embarrassing bulge in pants, swimsuits, or leggings. The changes to the labia majora can result from childbirth, weight gain or loss or due to aging. In some cases, women are just born this way. To safely reduce the size of the labia majora a crescent-shaped strip of the inner portion of the labia majora is removed. The scar is hidden in the crease between the inner and outer labia.
The perineum is the area that falls just below the opening of the vagina and just above the top of the anus. A perineoplasty procedure removes excess tissue in this area to give a flatter smoother appearance. Often times this can be the extension of one or both of the the labia majora or scar tissue that results from a vaginal tear or episiotomy that resulted from childbirth.
Clitoral Hood Reduction
Excess skin on the top or to the sides of the clitoris often causes the clitoris to look enlarged or uneven, or interferes with or diminishes clitoral stimulation. In other instances, a labiaplasty may result in the appearance of a relatively larger clitoral area since the excess labia have been removed. Please note: The clitoris itself and its nerves are never touched. This does NOT remove the skin that covers the clitoris. Rather, it results in the skin over the clitoris being smoother and less bulky.
ThermiVa Non Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation
ThermiVa, a new non-surgical radio frequency collagen enhancing treatment is performed in-office and requires no anesthesia or downtime. ThermVa is designed to improve the appearance and tighten areas of the inner and outer vagina, improve self-confidence and sexual experiences, as well help women with incontinence. During the treatment a smooth, disposable, hand-held wand is applied to emit radio frequency energy to the external labia and vulvar tissues, helping to restore tissue tone and function, as well to the internal vaginal walls to revive both atrophic tissue and other structures.
