What is the secret to flawless skin?

We all want to have healthy, glowing, flawless looking skin. Skin care can seem so complicated and overwhelming with all the products on the market claiming to have the answer. The answer is not so much in the products themselves rather the ingredients in the products. The “secret” to flawless looking skin is not in just 1 product but a complete regimen geared toward your own skin concerns (with compliance, of course). This skin care regimen can be as simple or complex as you would like. The flawless skin regimen looks something like this:

  1. Cleanse twice a day with a makeup removing cleanser
  2. Exfoliate manually and chemically everyday
  3. Hydrate/Moisturize everyday
  4. Use SPF everyday

The specifics of these products can vary with skin type, but we do offer skin care for all skin types at The Medical Spa at Corbett Cosmetic.

allysonAllyson Says:

Beautiful skin begins with healthy skin.  GRASS is an acronym for a skincare regimen that incorporates everything you need to achieve healthy, glowing, beautiful skin.

  1. Growth Factors
  2. Retinols
  3. Antioxidants
  4. Specialty Products
  5. Sun Protection

Each component of the GRASS regimen has a specific purpose. Growth Factors such as TNS Recovery Complex rebuild collagen and treat fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol is a chemical exfoliant that addresses acne, pores, fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture, skin discolorations, and acts as a vehicle for any product applied prior.  Antioxidants lsuch as SkinMedica Vitamin C&E Complex protect against free radicals and basically slow down the aging process.  Specialty Products would encompass any product(s) for your unique needs ie. Acne, brightening, redness relief, scar recovery.  Sun Protection is for UV defense (SPF 15 minimum daily).  Sun Screen Protects your investment.  Recently, SkinMedica introduced the first Super Screen that not only protects you from UVA/UVB rays but also infrared.

My recommendation is to resist the skincare impulse buy at the drug or department store.  These products generally do not stack up against the cosmeceuticals available in your physician’s office causing your commitment to wane as results are not achieved.  Consult with your skin care professional and invest in a skincare regimen that will work for you and produce beautiful results.
